Okay, now we’re going to take a look at
the romboids, the traps, some of the
shoulder things. So, romboids obviously
go between the shoulder blade and the
spine. We’ve got the suppinatus, which
is underneath the trap. We’ve got the
infraspanatus, which the shock wave
doesn’t work great for. Um, and then
we’ve got the posterior joint capsule
over here that we’re going to look at.
And then we’ll look at some structures
in the front as well. When we’re doing
the romboids, there are a couple
different positioning changes that we
can make. Besides being lying down or
sitting up, we can also change this arm
adduction or abduction to change it as
well. So, we may get the treatment
device going in there, have the person
move their arm to see if it changes it
up and down as well. As we get up into
the upper part of the traps, again, the
angle of the device becomes more
important because we want to direct the
energy in the right area. So, this may
be more in the levator scapula. As we
get up in here, if we want to go in the
suppinatus, I’m going to depress some of
that uh soft tissue out of the way to
get down into the suppinatus. We can
travel in the lower part of the neck
over into where it attaches. We can move
to the front of the shoulder where that
muscle attaches there. And if we want to
get the posterior joint capsule, we can
go across this way. Often time with
this, I’ll have the person uh put their
hand over there. I’ll hold their hand
for them. Let your elbow relax. That way
everything’s nice and relaxed. And so we
can get in there and treat that
posterior joint capsule. All that we
need to in there. Okay. Let that arm go
right on down the lateral deltoid all
the way down into here. With rotator
cuff muscles, a lot of times we’ll get
trigger points in that as the muscles
are trying to compensate.
So again, we’ll start here and travel
all the way down around that muscle
belly looking for adhesions and scar
tissue.
